Now that we’ve officially started week two of May, summer really isn’t that far away. With the arrival of summer we’ll finally have some much needed warmer weather, which means we can finally ditch our bulky winter clothes and start showing some skin.
But before we can start baring our shoulders we need to make sure that our skin is ready to take on the heat and the best way to get beach-ready skin is to smooth out rough elbows, knees, and heels.
First things first, you must exfoliate all dead and dry skin from your body. During your next shower use a body scrub that is gentle enough to buff away old skin, but packed with enough nutrients to protect, hydrate, and nourish your skin. We recommend using a scrub that has a coconut milk or coconut oil base.
Next you need to hydrate your skin and the best way to do this is with hydrating oil. Use either coconut oil or Vitamin E oil to moisturize those pesky dry spots as soon as you get out of the shower. These oils are packed with deep-penetrating vitamins that can help repair the skin and keep it soft.
Finally, the best time to do any moisturizing is before bed because you’ll wake up with healthy, supple skin. Apply a moisturizing cream to dry areas and rub thoroughly into the skin. This will allow the lotion to penetrate deep into the skin and heal and hydrate cracked areas. Before you fall asleep make sure to put on a pair of cozy cotton socks and while you sleep the cotton and moisturizer will work together to hydrate your skin. The Yo Sox team suggests wearing a pair our summer approved socks.
